Schwarzenegger's Secret Motives
Mick Arran thinks that there may be more to California's new heat regulation than Governor Schwarzenegger's sudden concern for the health of California's farmworkers:
But it seems I was giving Gov Schwartzenegger too much credit (a mistake I still unaccountably make with Republicans). It isn’t the health and welfare of migrant workers that concerns him, it’s the corporate health of California’s agribusiness industry. Working conditions are so bad now and pay scales so low that even the poorest of the poor are deciding it isn’t worth it.Hmmm
