Union Drive at Montefiore Could Be Labor Landmark

Check out the article about interns trying to unionize at Montefiore hospital in New York.

Significance: "The hospital has taken several steps to delay or defeat a possible unionization vote and, more important, it is asking a federal government agency to rule that residents and interns do not have the standard rights of an employee group to unionize....Montefiore, already a trend-setter, is seen by both sides in this dispute as setting precedents — perhaps national ones — in labor relations."
