It's Awards Time Again For Your Favorite Blog

You still have close to three months to wait for the Academy Awards ceremony, but to fill those long cold dark months until that exciting night there are two different contests where you can promote your favorite blog (whichever that may be.....)

First, the Koufax Awards are back again:
The Koufax Awards are named for Sandy Koufax, one of the greatest left handed pitchers of all time. They are intended to honor the best blogs and bloggers of the left. At the core, the Koufax Awards are meant to be an opportunity to say nice things about your favorite bloggers and to provide a bit of recognition for the folks who provide us with daily information, insight, and entertainment.
This is stage one: the nominations. Awards will be given in 15 categories: Best Blog, Best Blog—Pro Division, Best Blog Community, Best Writing, Best Post, Best Series, Best Single Issue Blog, Best Group Blog, Most Humorous Blog, Most Humorous Post, Most Deserving of Wider Recognition, Best Expert Blog, Best New Blog, Best Coverage of State or Local Issues, and Best Commenter.

Last year I was nominated for Best Single Issue Blog and Best Expert Blog. I did fairly well in Best Single Issue, but no cigar. Of course, if any other category strikes your fancy, step right up and nominate your favorite blog, whichever that may be......

And if you have any "favorite" posts, feel free to nominate those as well. My blog posts are like my children: I love them all (even if I don't really like all the time.) But my own personal favorite is Of Fish and Men: Corporate Penalties And The Law, which describes the absurdity and futility of the current penalties against companies who abuse and kill workers and poison communities.

Nominations are made by going here, scrolling down and leaving a comment or by sending an email to one of the nice people here.

And then there's LabourStart's Labor Website of the Year. LabourStart is the organization that kindly provides the health & safety and labor newsfeeds over on the right-hand side of this blog.

If you want to vote for Confined Space, click here. If you have another favorite site, vote here. You need to fill in the url for whatever website you plan to vote for. To prevent ballot stuffing, you will then be sent an e-mail asking you to confirm your vote.

No blog has ever won LabourStart's competition.
