Shoot Them Before They Shoot You

This is a good one. Leave it to Bush's OSHA.

OSHA's sponsoring a workplace violence conference in New England. Guess who the participants are:
Sponsored by the U.S. Labor Department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Western New England College, the conference will feature representatives of OSHA, the FBI, the U.S. Postal Service, the Springfield Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police, the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety, Smith & Wesson, and Longview Associates.
Which reminds me of a story....

One of our AFSCME members, a social worker, was being threatened and harassed by the family of an abused child that had been taken away -- phone calls, stalking, threats against her children. Needless to say, she was a nervous wreck. Her supervisor arranged a meeting with the private security guard at the facility, who advised her to carry a gun. Her co-workers were not too enthusiastic about the idea of this woman on the edge coming to work every day with a loaded gun in her purse.

True story.
